  • Android TVs
    Smart TVs with basic internet connectivity are passe, now is the time for Android-powered TVs. The Android TVs in the market today offer full functionality of Google’s mobile operating system, including access to apps. You can plug in a keyboard and mouse via USB to chat with friends on FacebookTwitter and GTalk; access emails; and make calls via Skype.Using a smartphone in conjunction with such TVs, you can even play games like Angry Birds on your TVscreen. Some of the companies that manufacture Android TVs are Lenovo, TCL and Sony.
  • Android Cameras:
    Canon and Samsung have developed cameras with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), respectively. The two devices have access to all Android apps and can access the internet via Wi-Fi and3G. Both render 16MP images by default, but you can alter the images by adding your favourite filters using apps like Instagram, Paper Camera etc and share them with friends and family instantly on social networks.

    Bringing the Android experience to TVs seems to be an agenda for many as various manufacturers have lined up set top boxes that allow Android apps to be used on atelevision 
     creen. Such devices can be connected to the TV via HDMI cables and access the internet using Wi-Fi and Ethernet in order to bring a seamless Android experience to the television. Some such TV boxes come with remote control that can be used to play motion games such as Raging Thunder as well touch-optimised games like Angry Birds. Companies like Amkette, Portronics as well as Kickstarter; Equiso offers a thumb-sized gadget that with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) that adds the flavour of Android to your TV.
  • Android Gaming Consoles:
    Android-powered gaming consoles are the new playmates of gamers, with currently only three options. Wikipad, a Jelly Bean powered device with 10.1-inch screen, is the only Android-based gaming console available in the market presently, while Ouya and PlayMG are under development. Ouya is a Jelly Bean-powered handheld device for gaming on TV, while PlayMG is a handheld gaming gadget with a 4-inch screen, running on Ice Cream Sandwich. While Wikipad and PlayMG come with several preloaded games, Ouya boasts of all free-to-play games.
  • Android Watches:
    Manufacturers are now aiming for your wrists with the Android-powered watches that offer snippets of information and instant alerts. Sony, Motorola and Pebble are the companies that have brought this device to the market first. Smart watches can be linked to your smartphone and tablet to alert you about emails and SMSes, and become your workout partner as well.
