The only limitation with this method is that it only works with Google Chrome Browser. In case you are using Firefox or your phone, then you will be unlucky as the sites will still pop up.

Block Sites Per Google Account

The advantage with this is that it works with all browsers including your mobile phones. CSE is a customized Google intended to search on a smaller set of websites rather than the entire internet. It is also true that you can research the entire internet except specific websites that do not interest you.

You can short list all the sites that you intend to block and create a custom search engine that will exclude the selected sites while showing results. This ay you will be able to keep of all the useless sites off your Google search results. This means that you can browse through your favorite sites only by customizing Google search engine. High quality sites can therefore receive the highest credit with this method as you may have them as the prevalent sites you intend to browse through. This means better results and exclusion of spam websites that are irrelevant in the search results.
